Weekends

Weekends are for catching up on all the crap you couldn’t get done during the week because you work sixty hours or more and after the 45 minute drive home you’re too tired to do anything. So every Saturday it’s clean house, do laundry, and mow the yard. Sunday it’s finish the laundry and grocery shopping.

To have any time for myself I have to get up early but then I doze off but I don’t want to do that because it’s the only opportunity I have to ichat with my son. This is the highlight of my week. We get to catch up with what’s going on in each other’s life. Of course we already know mine isn’t very exciting so mostly it’s sharing news about the family.

I’m very proud of my one and only. He has been living in Japan for the second time since September 2004. He’s only been home for eleven months out the the past three years. First for university and then to work. He is taking advantage by traveling to different areas and enjoying what Japan has to offer. Considering that both of his parents are homebodies amazes me. His first time flying was his first trip…….international no less! Now that I think of it the first leg of his trip was from Cincinnati to Detroit which was the same destination for me on my first flight to my first conference in September 1976. I’m easily amazed.

Ah, well, I sit here chatting away hoping he’s going to get a good connection and he’ll have time to talk. Maybe this will become more about family than anything else. That and complaining about stupid crap people do. God help me I’m not one.
